Scientific hose storage methods help ensure quality in foreign trade.

Sep 19, 2025

Hoses are widely used in both industrial and civilian applications, and their storage methods directly impact their lifespan and performance. For the foreign trade industry, mastering scientific hose storage methods not only reduces waste but also improves customer satisfaction and enhances competitiveness in the international market.

First, hoses should be stored in an environment with a suitable temperature, ideally between 5℃ and 25℃. Excessively high or low temperatures can cause the hose material to age, harden, or become brittle, affecting its flexibility and sealing properties. Furthermore, storage should be protected from direct sunlight and strong ultraviolet radiation, as these can accelerate the breakage of rubber molecular chains and cause cracking on the hose surface. Therefore, it is recommended to choose a cool, well-ventilated warehouse and use blackout curtains or storage cabinets for further protection.

Second, humidity control is equally critical. Prolonged exposure to high humidity can easily lead to moisture, causing mold growth and corrosion of metal joints. Foreign trade companies should store hoses in areas with a relative humidity below 70%, ensuring the floor is dry and using dehumidification equipment if necessary. Furthermore, hoses should be protected from contact with chemicals such as oils, solvents, acids, and alkalis, as these substances may corrode the hose material and reduce its durability.

For storage, hoses should be laid flat or hung to avoid prolonged compression or bending to prevent adhesion or structural deformation. If coiled, the coiling radius should be at least the minimum bend radius to maintain flexibility. For hoses stored for an extended period, regular inspections are recommended. Any signs of hardening, cracking, or odor should be promptly addressed.

Scientific storage methods not only extend the life of hoses but also ensure the high quality of products delivered for export. Export companies should prioritize hose storage, reducing operating costs through standardized management and enhancing their professional image in the international market.
